The history of ADM began in 1902 when Daniels Linseed Co. was established in Minneapolis. The company got its current name in 1923. In 1924, it went public and listed its shares on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker ADM. In 1967, the corporation entered the barge freight business. In 1986, it incorporated the Golden Peanut Company. In 1997, after it acquired Glencore’s Brazilian operations, it started operating in the edible beans market.
