Although the stock price isn’t high and the company’s dividends have been growing for a decade, the dividend yield (0.73%) is much lower than the US industry average (4.40%) and the US market average (3.50%). Therefore, you should consider CFD trading.
When trading CFD, you should pay attention to numerous factors that can affect the value of MLM stocks.
First, you should consider internal events in the construction materials industry. Also, you should be aware of the company’s competitors. These are Saint-Gobain North America, CEMEX, Summit Materials, Holcim Group, US Concrete, and Vulcan Materials Company. You can evaluate the industry’s overall health, which will signal a positive environment for the development of Martin Marietta Materials. Also, you should be sure that they don’t outperform Martin Marietta Materials. Otherwise, it may negatively affect Martin Marietta Materials’ sales and decrease its stock price.
The second factor is earnings data. You should check recent earnings reports to be sure the company is performing well. The share price will be highly volatile before and after the release as analysts will make predictions on the company’s financial strength. The average yearly growth of Martin Marietta Materials’ earnings is slower than the US Building Materials industry and the US market averages. At the same time, its yearly revenue has been growing faster than the US Building Materials industry average over the past five years. There is a problem that the company isn’t efficient at generating profits on its base of equity, assets, and capital employed.
The third factor that can have a negative impact on the MLM stock price is lawsuits and scandals. Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. has been involved in numerous lawsuits. Most cases are related to the environment, safety, and employment issues. When trading stocks, you should be sure the corporation isn’t going through a court case. Otherwise, there are risks it will have to pay large penalties that will affect its financial stability.
