Pool Corporation founder Frank St. Romain began his career in the pool industry as a warehouse manager. In 1981, together with Richard Smith, he founded South Central Pool Supply. In 1993, SCP Holding Corp. was created after the merger of South Central Pool Supply and the investment company Code Hennessy & Simmons. The company was renamed SCP Pool Corporation in 1995 and Pool Corporation (POOLCORP) in 2006.
